Sorry for your poor experience with my company, wombat. Obviously if this is happening to numerous customers it is one of two signs:

1) Overall shoddy service - which means Gateway is in trouble
2) Poor service due to surging demand exceeding Gateway's current ability to provide supply. I hope the reason the waits (no pun intended) were so long is that Gateway reps were helping other customers and not being unproductive. If this is the case, it is a growing pain which Gateway must resolve as soon as possible so it doesn't become permanent trouble. In any event, this doesn't excuse the loss of your order.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you request a rep call you instead of simply placing your order over the Internet? Curious about the reason.
