All, this is really a "Last 1000 Feet" post.
This week's Crains New York Magazine has a special Take Out Section on Internet related stories. One of them hits home for me, since it mentions 55 Broad Street, the old Goldman Sachs Building prior to their move to 85 Broad, and prior to it being used by Drexel, and right behind where I am currently situated; and 50 Broadway, next door to my current office, and 100 feet behind the NYSE.
The cabling article in this issue speaks about a veritable frenzy that is sweeping the real estate market here, whereby landlords are feverishly improving communications infrastructure to enable high speed web access and virtual networking. From my perspective, and from what I have personally witnessed in and about town, it is not overstated in the least. In fact, it's a rather tame account compared to some of the locations and situations I've come across in the past year or so.

I would have to think that this is not a unique situation to NY, however, except for the almost unbelievable scale of it, perhaps, and if someone can point me to similar articles about situations taking place in other cities like this, I would appreciate it.
Other stories related to e-commerce on the Web are equally compelling, and can be found by going to
