REVERE COMMUNICATIONS INC. SIGNS AN EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH PAGECOM CANADA
CALGARY, Aug. 19 /CNW/ - Revere Communications Inc. has signed an
exclusive distribution agreement with Pagecom Canada for the distribution of Pagecom pagers and alphanumeric paging services throughout Canada. The Pagecom alphanumeric network is the only paging service which is free to the user. This is achieved by allowing businesses to advertise to the subscriber base in a controlled paging method. Revere is beginning immediate deployment of its national sales force to proliferate Pagecom's unique pagers and
paging system throughout the country.
Revere and Pagecom project first year sales to be robust. Based on their current business plan they will successfully penetrate all major markets in Canada. Motorola is supporting the Revere/Pagecom initiative byimmediately manufacturing the pagers necessary to achieve Revere and Pagecom's market penetration projections over the next calendar year.
Pagecom has developed a proprietary paging system using Motorola pagers on the Flextech network. This provides the end user with free paging services for the entire life of the pager. This has been made possible by allowing businesses to advertise to the subscriber base through ''Information Services''. The uniqueness here is that the individual pager users can choose the information services and the times they want to receive them on an individual basis, creating a unique harmony between advertisers and paging customers. The Revenue derived from selling advertising ''pages'' offsets the monthly cost to the end user. Unlike the existing pager offerings this revolutionary technology will render the monthly invoice obsolete, benefiting
both industry and consumers alike. Initial test markets in the province of Alberta have yielded successful results. Revere intends to capitalize on the current success of the program and expand it across Canada.
As an acquisition to the agreement negotiated with Pagecom, Revere has acquired Pagecom's current dealer base of 22 dealer / resellers throughout Alberta. This acquisition was a necessary part of the contract as the current networks, systems & procedures have not only proven themselves to produce profits but will serve as an effective model for duplicating Revere's reseller network throughout Canada.
Revere attracts two main revenue streams from this agreement. First, the revenue derived from the initial sale of the paging unit. Secondly, Revere and Pagecom will share equally in any and all advertising sold on the paging network. The paging network allows advertisers to specifically pinpoint the market segment interested in their particular products and services.
The end user chooses from various categories of information, from
restaurants to legal services, as part of the free paging membership
agreement. Paging advertisements are then sent to those individuals. This creates a receptive consumer base for their products and services.
