Further to my post I guess I should sound off and say that I think the blood letting is far from over in Asia. If anything my impression is that the recession in asia is broadening and deepening and I am now concerned about social and political implications that would have been unimaginable a year ago. It is one thing to deal with a seething mass of starving people. It is quite another to give that mass 20 years of solid economic and social growth, and then snatch it away. It doesn't matter much that the mob waving parangs and shouting anti-western slogans can now speak English and have tasted sushi. They are still as dangerous as they ever were.
