Ericsson presents a new IT and Internet product

Ericsson presents a new IT and Internet product for multimedia communication
in connection to Expo '98 in Lisbon. The product, Instant Recording Internet
Solution (IRIS), offers the ability to capture, document & communicate a full
multimedia production of seminars, meetings, conferences or lectures in real
time via a PC, using multiple cameras.

A live movie of a speaker can be viewed interactively with flipping images
from an overhead projector, a whiteboard or from a PC Power Point
presentation, all on the same screen.

The complete production of the meeting can be stored on a hard disk or sent in
real time to a host server. The information can then be retrieved on demand or
distributed live throughout the Internet or through a corporate Intranet. It
is also possible to simply take the complete presentation and download it on a
CD and/or have it sent as an e-mail to your PC to be waiting for you when you
get back. The system saves costs and time. It is extremely easy to operate and
needs no expert knowledge. The stored production is played back simply by the
touch of a button.

This product will be used in the unique setting of the Swedish Pavilion at
EXPO'98 in Lisbon. Ericsson has, together with Telia, Audicom, Senab LF,
Aff„rskraft and Dataton, formed a partnership called the Spring Group which
will be holding international seminars between 24-27 August 1998.

The seminars will focus on how businesses and communication can be developed
by:

- using more effective ways of working;
- adopting future technologies and
- running successful partnerships between small and large companies on and
equal basis.

The seminars will be recorded and IRIS enables them to be viewed on the
Internet.

Ericsson's 100,000 employees are active in more than 130 countries. Their
combined expertise in fixed and mobile networks, mobile phones and infocom
systems makes Ericsson a world-leading supplier in telecommunications.
