Nuc, I just checked AMAT and KLAC. Wala, KLAC opened and reached the $32 and change high today and then it faded. Its put premium is also higher than AMAT. I say a lot of people are thinking the way I did last night - that if KLAC could not penetrate $32 and get bounced off, it is a good short. Since you are already short, congratulation.

Since you are new in shorting, a few thoughts here:

1. Short is always a shorter term play than long since the bulk of the poeple are are in stocks only understand one direction - long.
2. The pressure is always there for a surprise up move like a buyout or something.

3. The shorts can get short squeezed when certain events like when big rumors (true or false) are spreading.

4. Once your position is profitable, protect it and don't get greedy. We are still in a technical bull market despite LT and others' doom day scenarios playing more and more now.

5. If the position for some reason reverses, you want to take small losses when you can. This applies to the short term trades on longs as well but it is particularly important for the short because the sky is the limit in the up direction. A fresh example for you. I covered TWLB at 29 7/8 and took a near 10% loss when I saw the trend clearly turned as TWLB closed above resistence. If I did not do that two days ago, my loss today would have been 25%. It is just that dramatic.
