Tips for reading on the Internet:

Use Java Script to open multiple windows, particularly the open command. Example of a script that I use:

<HTML>
<SCRIPT>
open("http://www.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/dbcfiles/indext.html?source=core/dbc")
open("http://www3.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/dbcfiles/chipt.html?SOURCE=DBCC")
open("http://www3.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/dbcfiles/hitecht.html?SOURCE=DBCC")
open("http://www3.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/dbcfiles/compt.html?SOURCE=DBCC")
open("http://www.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/dbcfiles/nasdaqt.html?source=core/dbc")
open("http://www.phillynews.com")
open("http://www.sjmercury.com/gmsv/")
open("http://www.webmagazine.com/cgi-bin/sites.pl")
open("http://www.techweb.com/investor/")
open("http://www.techweb.com/investor/newsroom/newsroom.html")
open("http://www.wgal.com/WGAL8NT/update.html")
open("http://www3.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/newsroom/newsroom.html?SOURCE=DBCC")
open("http://www3.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/dbcfiles/hltech.html?source=DBCC")
open("http://www3.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/dbcfiles/hlearn.html?source=DBCC")
open("http://www3.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/newsroom/netdaily.html?source=DBCC")
open("http://www3.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/newsroom/calendar.html?source=DBCC")
open("http://www3.dbc.com/cgi-bin/htx.exe/newsroom/silicon.html?source=DBCC")
open("http://www.intelligent-investor.com/techwatch.html")
open("http://www.businesswire.com/indexht.shtml")
open("http://www.dbc.com/cgi-bin/portfolio.exe?pfrom=edit&source=core/dbc&portfolio=1&function=price")
</script>
</html>

Write this in a regular wordprocessor, then export it as ASCII. You would then load the file into your browser just like a regular HTML document. All of these windows would take a while to load, but you can do other things while it is loading. It's better than offline browsing, because you don't have to keep clicking on bookmarks. As you finish reading each page, just exit that window and you are instantly at the next window. I don't think this script will work with Internet Explorer, though. I build this script up as I am browsing. Whenever I visit a site that I like, I go to the address window (Shift + TAB), Copy (Ctrl + C), Switch to my wordprocessor, go to the right place in my document and type Open(" then paste (Ctrl +V). I close the quote and parenthesis, then press RETURN, ready for the next site. When you save this document, you must save it as ASCII and you must make sure that none of the lines wrap. If they do, use a smaller font. Otherwise a hard return will be inserted within the Internet address, and Netscape won't recognize it. I name this file Weekdaily. This indicates that I should run this script just on weekdays, since that's when these sites are updated. My other scripts are named Weekly, Monthly, Science, Business News, Monday, Friday, etc. I think you get the picture.

Another tip: Instead of clicking on links with the left button, use the right button, and choose "Open Link in New Browser Window." Then immediately hit the Windows 95 key that allows you to return to your previous window. (I think this will work. I have a Gateway with a programmable keyboard, so I have no problem doing this.) I believe that the new Windows 95 keyboards do have this key, so you can press just one key instead of ALT + TAB. You could also just use the mouse to click on the icon in the taskbar, but I think it is much faster using one key. Also, bookmark these javascript files for easy access. Put them all in one folder for even more convenience, or start the bookmark name with a "js" so that they are all together for you to quickly locate.

Tip for IE and Netscape: Page Down by pressing the spacebar.

P.S. Are YOU hot?
