Tony,

Just found an article in the Business section of Sunday's Santa Barbara News press. It was written by Susan Antilla for the Bloomberg Business News, and is headlined:

Lousy Stocks for under $10 make great obligatory gifts

Omni Multimedia Group, another nineties IPO gone sour, went public at $5 a share in April of 1995, trading as high as 12 7/8 by February of 1996-then falling to 2 13/16 by Dec. 4. The company markets CD-ROMs on the internet.

Its underwriter, Schneider Securities, was under investigation by the enforcement division of the Pennsylvania securitied commision at the time of the IPO, something OMNI was not aware of at the time, its president told Bloomberg in February.

OMNI reported losses in the quarters that ended June 19 and September 28, and said in an SEC filing on Nov. 29 that "no proceeds from the IPO remain." After explaining who its biggest customers have been since 1994, OMNI said in the same document that it "does not expect these companies to be material customers in the current fiscal year." The perfect stock for the boss who downsized you out of a job, perhaps?

Maybe I should consider selling my last few shares on Monday also. Any more thoughts?

Steve
