intc, msft, and cpq were trying to drive the telcos. as you can see it hasnt done much.

everyone wants high speed. they dont care if its CAP or DMT, though they might care if it is full speed or g.lite<G>.

msft should concentrate on making a good OS, not trying to force the telcos.
