bill c - >>This can't be true... Alcatel using CAP?<<
Not from the comments I've read.
From the Bloomburg article.
"This past month I've followed the broadband industry as closely as ever. GTE announced the close of the first phase of their ADSL trial in Redmond, Washington, and their praise of Amati's Overture 4 was effusive compared to their guarded optimism back in August. In announcing the second and larger phase, to include Amati's Overture 8, they were clearly excited and gave as evidence the number of calls they'd received asking to be included."
*GTE is Effusive about the Overture 4
Effusive - Poring freely : excessively demonstrative : gushing :
"Besides these GTE announcements, there was the Alcatel press release extolling the virtues of DMT. Now I'm not concerned what variation of DMT they're talking about as long as I know ALA and AMTX are discussing licensing, and I've been assured they are. As to why they came out with it at this time, I suspect it's a counter offensive to the gang of also-rans who were challenging the Consortium award. Consider it another round in the DMT-CAP Broadband Olympics."
I don't know, all this on Amati, GTE and Alcatel, looking at it pragmatically, sounds realistic to me.
Sounds as if Amati has an intrinsic value.
Like my Alcatel story, I've known for months about a GTE Amati connection, that "could" have effected their relationship.........Connecting the dots has been fun.............. JW@KSC |
