Now then you make interesting points here. Keep in mind that the model for todays market system was created by Mr. Kennedy in response to the great crash. Keep in mind that essentially we are all involved in legalized gambling with the market makers dealing and holding the cards, along with the large investment banking houses. You when you buy may not be buying a share issued by the company at all, but a share issued electronically by the market maker. That trade represents a market maker filling an order. He may well not have stock in inventory and will not borrow but will sell you a share. This is called a naked short. So you are correct. If we as the public are on the right side of the game we win. If not we get our clocks cleaned. Fun eh? The recent developments look interesting.
