WATSON INVESTMENT ACQUIRES 5% OF GENTNER COMMON STOCK

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Gentner Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: GTNR) today
announced that Watson Investment Partners, L.P. has acquired a greater-than five percent share of the company's
common stock.

Watson Investment Partners manages a privately-held fund that focuses on companies with market capitalizations
of under $300 million. According to Stephen Watson, general partner and founder of Watson Investment Partners,
his company's efforts are primarily directed toward identifying undervalued, small-cap stocks.

"Based on our research, Gentner represents an opportunity for growth that falls right in line with the goals of our
Small Cap Fund," said Watson. "We are pleased with Gentner's recent performance and with the direction in
which the company is headed."

Watson Investment Partners owns approximately 400,000 shares of Gentner common stock that were purchased
on the open market.
