8/12/98 Paul Johnson (BARS analyst) report on the 1998 New Millennium Conference held on 8/4/98. Entitled "Moore's Law Meets the Telecosm." Released today on Professional Edge (via E*Trade) at 1:13 p.m. EST. Can't copy it -- here are excerpts 8-page report is very bullish on the new packet-switching based networks. Lengthy discussion of AT&T need to rebuild its circuit-based network. Many positive references to ASND GX550 new ATM switch with OC48 pipe as a very economical way for AT&T. Based on discussions with LU, NT and TLAB, Johnson writes, "[They] do not have the DNA in their organization to develop these new technologies." States that such companies will be "aggressive on acquisitions" as a result. Johnson's report is quite excellent.
