ORLAND PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 20, 1998--Andrew
Corporation's 7.3-, 7.6-, and 9.3-meter Earth Station Antennas are now
available with extended C-Band capabilities. The receive band for
these antennas is 3.4-4.2 GHz and the transmit band 5.850-6.725 GHz.
Extended C-Band is an option for operators needing a wider frequency
band to expand their services globally. The broader bandwidth permits
the delivery of real-time multimedia, broadcast, and Internet
solutions to a growing number of customers.
ESAs with extended C-Band capabilities provide an instant
communications solution for the growing broadcasting and
telecommunications needs of developing and under served countries and
complement the increase in telecommunications activity in these areas.
Andrew extended C-Band ESAs are constructed with precision-formed
aluminum reflectors. Extensive use of hot-dipped galvanized steel,
stainless steel, and high tensile friction-type hardware provides
extended system operational life and increased antenna pointing
accuracy. Fully shaped main reflector and Gregorian optics give
excellent pattern characteristics and high gain performance. High
quality design, materials, and workmanship ensure that Andrew ESAs
operate efficiently even under extreme climactic conditions - with
guaranteed 125 mph (200 km/h) wind survival in any position of
operation. All Andrew ESAs have a three year warranty stipulating they
are free from defects in materials and workmanship arising under
normal use and service.
Andrew is also developing LMI (Lockheed Martin and Intersputnik)
and INSAT (Indian Space Research Organisation satellite) banded feed
systems for its extended C-Band ESAs. The LMI receive band is 3.4-4.2
GHz and transmit band 5.725-6.725 GHz. The INSAT band is Rx 4.5-4.8
GHz and Tx 6.725-7.025 GHz.
