PFE is my first foray into the biotech sector, and nobody warned me about the political, moral, and legal influences on the stock price. When Apple introduces an i-Mac, they start getting a return as soon as they can crank them out; Pfizer has to pass through a 10 mile gauntlet of politicians and bureaucrats before they can even offer a product. When Sony puts out a Play Station, there is applause; Viagra, on the other hand, is being maligned as a lifestyle drug that is medically unimportant. No one sues Intel if they power a 3.3V mpu from a 5V bus and blow it up; lawyers are standing in line to recruit families of heart patients who mixed themselves Viagra-Nitrate cocktails.

It is no wonder that the short term movement of pfe is so unpredictable. When Intel tanked this morning, I went straight to the news link and found out why (Kurlak is at it again), but Pfizer can move +/- 10% at any given time without any apparent reason. I sure am glad they've got several better mousetraps; short term they're a crap shoot, but long term, they just can't lose.
