Yes, all knowledge, in fact everything originated in India!

Here is some more "interesting BS" along the same lines that some friends of mine in the Bay Area came up with sometime ago :

>Speaking of re-writing history, you may want to read some of the
>recent writings of one Prof. Oak of Pune, who makes claims such as:
>
>* Christianity = Krishna-niti (rule of Krishna)
>
>* Yesu-Christ = Yashoda-Krishna
>
>* Adam = Adham
>
>* Man = Manu (of the Manusmriti fame, the first modern-day Man)
>
>and so on....

And here's one more from Prof. Oak :

* Taj Mahal = Tej Mahal

Plus some more...

"Morgan Hill" was originally called "Murugan Hill" ; the name "Sunnyvale"
originated from "Senni Malai" (because of the view of the hills from the
town). In Tamil, inarguably the oldest language in the world, "Senni Malai" means "beautiful mountains"...

"Santa Clara" is derived from "Shantakaara" (because Goddess Durga Devi,
after slaying a Rakshasa, ran furiously around half the planet, and
finally attained her peaceful form, i.e. "shantha aakara", right here! :-) )

Not only that, "Central Expressway" is the modified form of "Chandra
Expressway" (because of the crescent-shaped turn it takes near the border
of Sunnyvale and Santa Clara (oops! that should be read as "Senni Malai
and Shantakaara"!).

Also "Wal Mart" is the shortened form of "Walmiki Mart"! The prevalent
belief that Sam Walton had something to do with it is pure myth and there
is no "rigorous" proof to support that claim :-)

"Charcot Street" in San Jose is so named because Arcot Ramachar
once lived there (around 9,500 B.C. or so). The name was
initially "Ramachar Arcot street" and over the last 11,500 years
got corrupted to its present name!

"Trimble Street" (also in SJ) was named because about 25,000 years
ago (during the Ice Age), a Malayalee arrived here during peak winter.
While walking along a street, he exclaimed, "Oh my God, I am TrimbLing!".
That very street later came to be known as Trimble Street.

And of course, San Tomas Expressway was called "Shantamma Expressway"
many thousands of years ago!

Finally, Remember "Guadalupe" Parkway and "Guadalupe" river in San Jose? Well, here's how the name was
born....

Long ago (around 7,800 B.C.), Boray Gowda had come to the San Jose
area. As he travelled along Chandra Expressway and Shantamma
Expressway, he suddenly completely lost his way in a small street.
In his attempt to find his way, he kept going in circles (i.e. loops)
on that street, which also had a bridge over a river. And that's
how they came came to be known as "Gowda loop" street and "Gowda
loop" river respectively. Over the millenia, the name got corrupted
to its present form, i.e. Guadalupe :-)
