At first I was looking to get the Matrox Mystique 220 PCI.
However, this uses its own drivers and not those packaged with
Win 98. There has been some trouble getting these cards
configured by Zeus, although Dirk got his Matrox cards working.
If you use cards that run off the Win 98 drivers, you can have different resolutions on different monitors, not so with Matrox.

I decided to find a similar card that was "plug and pray"
with drivers included on Win 98. I think I've found a good

It has 230 ramdac, 4 mb SGRAM - that's what I was looking for,
along with good refresh rates. Cost at pricewatch is $61.
Their comparison shows its even better than the Matrox Mystique 220.

I also bought another small computer to play around with.
Computer City is being bought out by CompUSA. They had a big
sell on their own Signet computers.

I picked up a Cyrix 180 mhz, 2.2 HD, 16 edo ram, for $320 which
includes 3 years warranty on parts/service. It has 4 pci slots
to play around with, so I will. Here is a question: Should I
just buy the Win 98 upgrade or by a complete 98 operating system
and do a new install? Pros/cons? Anyone have trouble with the
upgrade version?
