*AV*--I just finished covering a short on VECO today and was not convinced enough to jump in on the long side. My feeling right now is to watch from the sidelines. At close to $30, a run back up to $35 is just as probable as a retreat to $25. We are going into expiry Friday and we are still reeling form the Book to Bill issues. I need to see these things blow off and cool off from the front of peoples minds. When you also factor in the CNBC negative comments on the semiconductro sector, CAUTION comes to mind.

I am not negative on this sector and not positive. More and more of the big boys are moving their recovery projections well into the 1999 calander year as I have put forth months ago. This is a market of stocks trading in ranges. And as Tech Master and I have done, we have been targeting some 10% gains.

I feel more comfortable in ASMLF, NVLS, and a few others moving up a few points than I do with VECO moving back up. VECO was performing out of phase with the rest of its peer. It seems that it is now moving back towards the pack but the pack is moving down. I might miss an opportunity but I do not feel comfortable.

BTW- I did not respond to you GALTF question because I am out of touch with it. I need to get caught up since I allowed it to lapse from my universe.
