I tried to call some MMs today.

I called FRAN and they just hung up on me after I asked my question. Same goes for another one I tried. Then I tried HILL and got somewhat of an answer. I asked them about IDCN and why the price was not slightly below the offer of 3/8. He said they are aware of the offer, but they do not know if it is true or not. I should of asked him if they normally verify the validity of a buyout offer before moving the price of the stock, but oh well (I highly doubt this is the case). I then asked him if they are holding the price down and his response was they are making a market. He then chimed in with it looks like all the MMs are taking the same approach with this stock. Lastly, I asked if they are short of shares and his answer was that information is privileged.

After making these calls and getting shaky answers I came up with an idea. We should call each of the MM involved with this stock and pose as traders for the major brokerage houses. The question would be "I have an order for XX shares (5M or more) and want to see if you have the inventory to handle that?" If he says no than ask how much of the order can he fill. We could also ask why they haven't moved the stock closer to the offer price (you could state clients are beginning to question the brokerage house on this issue)? You can find the number of the MM next to the names on some of the prior posts here. Some are 800 numbers.

Let's give it a try. Couldn't hurt.
