Nice post Jay... <But all stock picks must be accompanied by backup information or the message is deleted from the board, Marek added. Most Internet message boards, however, don't monitor postings.>

...Basically it is virtually idiocy to buy any stock based on someones touting it

<<He will buy if the stock is endorsed by at least three people he considers trustworthy -..>>

this is ridiculous.. I'd rather have a stock that is touted by one smart person with backup than one that is touted by an army of 'believers' who act on the the calls of a variety of soothsayers. If you fall prey to one of these false prophets you probably deserve to lose.

The track record is important, that is why our thread as well as Market Gems the commercial enterprise stands behind a mass of newsletters, watch lists and the posts themselves that can be tested easily and also rather quickly. I don't track many threads for lack of time, but there are a handful that are unique, run by men/women of vision, like Donald Sew, Judy, Iqbal Latif, Chris, Doug, Patrick Slevin, Tom Trader, Steve Goldman...etc. etc.. Honest, intelligent people with quite a lot to contribute and it's these that make Silicon Investor so popular and not the horde of soothsayers who pop up on the HOT lists and fade away into oblivion.
