BANK OF INTERNATIONAL SETTLEMENTS: 'Year 2000 Country Pages

The Council and its parent committees recognise the need for the public and private sectors to
share information and coordinate their efforts with respect to Year 2000 readiness
programmes, testing plans, and contingency measures. This can only be achieved if contacts
are identified at key organisations, both within the financial sector and outside as well as within
individual countries and across borders. The Council has contacted financial sector regulatory
organisations in a large number of countries to ask them to assist in collecting contact
information for relevant organisations and companies within their country.

The country pages also contain information provided by financial infrastructure operators on
the preparation of their systems for the Year 2000 date change. That information is presented
in a framework, which was originally designed for payment and settlement systems. It has now
been extended to other financial systems such as exchanges and trading systems.
