They are not yet equipped, and many if not all will never be in the future, for handling the gatekeeper functions etc. But they suffice quite nicely, I would think, for setting up transport and satisfying pure routing requirements, on a transparent basis, for getting from a to z, which is what I was referring to.

Of course, I may be wrong about this for reasons I am unaware of, and if so, please advise why the pure Layer 3 routing capabilities of the 7000s are inadequate for VoIP.
