Your analysis is fine for those of us who have Canadian $ Expenses. But if you live in the US, in the example given, 5/70 of your return was lost to currency exposure. If the underlying stock price went up by more than 5/70 and also outperformed other likely US investments, then the US investor is still a winner.

But it is an issue. How many people want to invest in Korea, Russia, etc.? Key difference is that Canada's economy is basically strong and improving.

Perhaps, I'm out to lunch. I just don't believe that the Canadian $ has helped NN's stock price during the past several months. Longer term, this will be another strong positive factor favouring increased earnings.
