to be used in a small enclosure like the iMac? The
heat dissipation was one of the things the Compaq
guy was marveling over.


They'll probably work it out. It's likely the first thing they have to consider when designing their respective trash cans. The chassis and module integration on the iMac is a beautiful piece on engineering -- partly owing to the fact that the G3 doesn't require a heat sink the size of Candlestick Park.

In any case, looks like no iMac competition in the
looks department until next summer, if then.


Apple's been Microsoft's R&D department for years, and the ID department for every other computer company since the original Apple IIs. By the time summer 99 rolls around Apple will still be ahead of the curve. These PC guys are just shameless.
