I'm blaming Monica. Bill was in an emotionally vulnerable state due to the government shut-down of -95... he was stressed-out, panicky, hungry and alone... and then this infernal intern barges in with take-out pizza and too much cleavage. Did she spare a thought to Nokia investors and what the repercussions to them would be? I doubt that.

I keep reading how all this is really irrelevant to global investment community. Well, when Wall Street Journal runs an editorial noting the striking similarities between the conduct of the president of United States and commonly accepted symptoms of sociopathic behaviour it's not exactly a boost for market sentiment. He's been a great statesman in many regards, he married a brainy, independent woman instead of a politically safe Stepford wife, he raised his kid right, vanquished Gingrich and took on Philips Morris. Is it realistic to ask more from a president? Who said he should be loved? God knows nobody loves our president here in Finland... we just kind of tolerate him and that works OK. I'm sure that this Starr - Clinton Celebrity Death Match is a genuine contributing factor to current market instability. And now even the missile strikes are being questioned... every single political issue is now getting sucked into this sleazy swamp.

None of this is foreigners' business, I guess... except that the American business magazines are now recommending that people sell the European equities first when they start selling. Thanks a bunch.

Tero
