Campaign finance? Well, Starr isn't the one investigating that. I assume that you are assuming that Reno will name an OIC to investigate Gore and Ickes. Just another ridiculous endeavor. Gore did ONE SINGLE THING. He made phone calls from his VP office when he knew or did not know that he was raising "hard" money for the DNC. This, in a perfect world is what will happen when Gore is given his own personal IC: the IC determines in 5 minutes, okay give 'em 20 minutes, that Gore either knew that he was soliciting money for the hard DNC account or he did not know. Okay, now we know that. Enough? We need an IC for that???? No? Okay, let's be realistic then. Gore gets his own IC, another crazy Republican operative who goes off for 4-5 years (into the Gore Administration) investigating Tipper, all the Gore (sweet!) daughters, and whether Gore lies about using a baldness medication. Eventually a shocked, shocked I say, Congress is outraged, outraged I say, that Gore made a phone call from his VP office to raise DNC hard money. Of course at that point, no American is paying attention because it is too caught up in the story that the Clintons have divorced (finally) and Hillary has been seen keeping company with Annie Heche.
