Virgil,
Your post is very interesting, obviously you are an experienced options trader.
However, I do have one question that I'd like to discuss with you.
You mentioned you like a covered put strategy in this market and my question is... "why don't you prefer a naked call position instead, since each strategy has the same profit profile, and the call has less commissions and the call premium is likely to be higher.
