<<Answer one question for me.... Where does the 60+% approval rating come from for Mr. Clinton>>

The polls are based on calls to around 500 pre-approved people (pre-approved does not mean biased, only that they have been determined to meet certain requirements to provide an accurate representation of the general populace). IMHO, that is not a big enough sample. It might work if you could break down the population to only 2 groups, Reps and Dems, but I don't think that works here. The huge disparity between the personal rating and the job rating point this out. Usually, people that approve of the job someone is doing also overwhelmingly support him on a personal level. This situation is different, and I think the polls fail to reflect that.

Also, the apparent drop of 20% in his personal poll ratings seems to have come from a change in the wording in the poll. When people were asked the original question (excluded reference to what you think of Clinton as a person), the results went back up to their pre-Monday levels. In other words, the poll results are heavily dependent on the wording, most of which we have not seen.
