Paul, don't know if it qualifies as a "screw-up", but Kurlak did turn tail and run on NSM this morning as well, downing it from L-T accumulate to L-T neutral. So Kurlak is reduced to lowering ratings after warnings. What a champ! The way Merrill works their ratings systems he gets extra notches to play around with. He can run up and down the ladder on the near-term and long-term recs. The guy's out there making predictions that the $SOX could be under 200, and while he's doing that he had long-term accumulate and long-term buy recs. on some of the very stocks that make up that index? Kurlak's defenders have managed to shape the argument on the man's record in much the same way that our President's apologists manage to portray an adulterous liason between the most powerful man on earth and a 21-year old intern in White House as simply "sex between consenting adults". The Death of Outrage, to use Bill Bennett's term, is a ubiquitous, corrosive phenomenon. Good trading, Tom
