You're getting some of your facts mixed up. Gore was not involved in the coffee klatches, the Lincoln bedroom, or commercials (I have no idea what the commercials thing is). On the Buddhist temple, Gore showed poor judgment for being at a fundraiser at a religious institution, but was cleared of violating any law by attending that. As for the handwriting, you're wrong, it was not something that Gore supposedly read, it is instead evidence that at a meeting that Gore was supposedly at, the matter was discussed whether the money being raised was for the DNC hard account or for the soft account. Gore has always denied that he knew that this was for the hard money account, and these notes shed some light on the possibility that Gore should have known. But it's all a stretch. Some notes on that pad are not going to tell us whether Gore stepped out of the room then, whether he started daydreaming about that chick Monica the Prez is seeing, or whether he dozed off. Also, even assuming the worst, Gore should have known that he was raising hard money, can you or anyone else explain to me why we give a damn? Does it make you feel better that Gore gone down the street and made the phone call from the 7-11 at the corner, it would have been perfectly legal. Oh, I'm sure that I'm going to simply invite more Johnny One-note responses that this is MORE LYING, OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE AND PERJURY. What has our legal system become when we convert every little mistake--no matter how inconsequential --into a prosecution for obstruction of justice. |
