This rumor is really an old one, I heard this at least a year ago. I can't comment on the rumor but I can tell you the following : We (Lucent) have an OEM agreement with GDC to sell their ATM edge machines to complement our own ATM machines. Since the ATM products we have are currently focus on backbone machines (read BIG and EXPENSIVE). As far as I know, the GDC machines are considered very good and their prices are right (read CHEAP). Their edge machines are a very good fit to our GlobeView backbone machines. Also, GDC has a strong presence in the Europen ATM market. Personally I think GDC is a good buy under $12 a share. But don't buy for the rumors, buy for their foundmentals. Julian
