outside the top 50 sites who thinks they can advertise or create
a community site and get users to migrate over there.
To be a top 50 site (let alone to 10 or 5 which GCTY happens to be)
is very difficult to achieve ... This cannot be denied ... There are
hundreds and thousands of sites out there that can basically copy
what GCTY is doing ... Will they succeed don't think so.
Now, with respect to Yahoo, Excite and Lycos (these are obviously)
the "largest players on the internet." Now, if they can entice
(steal) community members from remains to be seen.
I don't believe the big players of the internet confirmed that what GCTY <snip> <snip> ...
Of course they are, why else would Lycos, Yahoo and Excite invest
in community sites (services) if there is no future there...
Futhermore, the investments of Softbank, CGMI, Yahoo, Intel, etc.
does add confirm that there is something to GCTY
