CIEN would be cheap to buy now.. down 23 points today to 33 on news that they lost AT&T.. DTN NEWS 02 08/21/98 CIENA loses AT&T account\Owosso outlook CIENA Corp. (NASDAQ: CIEN) announced that it had been informed this morning by AT&T (NYSE: T) that AT&T will not pursue further evaluation of CIENA's 40-channel WDM multiplexer. In view of the timing of AT&T'sdecision, CIENA will adjourn its pending stockholder meeting, scheduled for Friday at which stockholders are to vote on the proposed merger with Tellabs Inc. (NASDAQ: TLAB) The stockholder meeting will be reconvened on Sept. 9 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time. The Company indicated it would have further comment soon, but wanted to disseminate news of the decision promptly. (1140)
