Good point. Everyone loves Linux and its open code philosophy.

It has databases ported over and next comes good, public domain, accounting, word processing, etc.

Unfortunately, its strength is that it is a open system with no one really owning it. A Committee must agree on a new item in order launch it and make it stick.

So, the problem with making a good GUI is that it is done by committee.

A camel is a horse put together by a committee.

The groupies I know just use X windows.
