<<<As a male, I too am happy with how the republican party opened up cabinet-level and supreme court appointments for women.>>>

Hmm, wasn't it a Republican president that nominated and brought Sandra Day O'Connor to the Supreme Court?

By the way it the first woman to be elected to the Congress was a woman from the Republican party.

The first woman to be appointed as the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare was appointed by a Republican president.

The first woman EVER to be nominated for President was a Republican.
The first woman to ever be appointed as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development was appointed by a Republican.

The first woman of either party elected to the United States Senate without first having been preceded by her husband in Congress or first having been appointed to fill an unexpired term was a Republican.

The first time in history that two women members of the U.S. Senate served concurrently in their positions without first being appointed to fill an unexpired term were Republicans.

The first woman to be appointed U.S. representative to the United Nations was appointed by a Republican president.

The first woman appointed secretary of the Department of Transportation was appointed by a Republican president.

The first time in history three women have served concurrently in a President's Cabinet was during a Republican president's term.

The first woman to be appointed as a U.S. Marshall was appointed by a Republican president.

The first woman to ever respond to the president's state of the union address was a woman.

These are just the "firsts". I don't know what you ladies out there have been fed but to think that women haven't prospered under Republicans takes very little of the facts into consideration. Don't worry Bill the above statement isn't addressed strictly toward you but rather in agreement with your supposition.
