I realize you were being sarcastic, but I must ask....what is the legal basis for the Federal government getting involved in any way with our happiness or health? Safety......maybe. The government should not encourage bad behavior, but I don't see where they have any business commenting on it at all.

You don't see where, because you are ignorant of the basic building block upon which our nation was founded, which is "The Constitution". The words you haven't read are not in the "fine print", but are the very first words which begin that document: "We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common Defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this CONSTITUTION for the United States of American."

For your enlightenment I have placed in bold the "business" that the Constitution of the United States authorizes.
