End-of-world predictions are in their heady August season. First the destruction of trust the the administration would KILL THE MARKET. Next some piss-ant terrorist crawls out from under a rock in Afganistan and he's gonna KILL THE MARKET. Then the Russian devaluation will KILL THE MARKET. Hey! which day last week did goddam RUSSIA become the cornerstone of the world economy? I sure missed it. Time is ripe for Greenspan & co to drop discount rate in the face of impending inverted yield curve. Sure would surprise a lot of people. Buy good stocks and hold 'em. Think I heard that before!
