Javelyn, Sanyo's marketing VP seems to admit Valence has a substantial head start when he states " "We expect to introduce a lithium polymer battery within the next 12 months,". If Sanyo's version "...right now,... offers no energy density benefits over Li-ion..", then Valence is also ahead technically. You can verify this, of course, by comparing specific energies of lithium Ion battery packs with Valence's Li polymer both in watt-hr per liter and watt-hr per kg.

Such a statement by a marketing VP sounds a little like an automobile dealer convincing customers that disc brakes or independent rear suspensions are not that important because models he sells, not so equipped, seem to do very well without them.

I believe is was on August 12 that Lev said the only threat he was aware of to VLNC's current technology is to obsoleted by their own next version.

I would be interested in Sanyo's energy densities if you have any specifics.

Have a good weekend & Regards, FMK
