JBB..I don't agree because I've run scores of excellent Telescan prosearch and Metastock explorations and Technifilter reports this weekend. These same scans which are now 'proprietary' and a good deal of my own profits these past 18 months came from these scans. When I did a back test of some of them this morning a they were now giving negative feedback. I think that the market's recent debacle is the cause for people's 'watch lists' to be mostly negative. That is why they are called 'watch lists' and not 'buy lists'. I've had some stocks that I totally ignored and that gave no signals and others that gave some 'buy' signals and subsequently gave nice gains.

This is the case whether you are talking of neural networks, technical analysis, fundamental analysis, etc. I've seen analysts on tv changing their minds in just a few hours on market climate on likelihood of further rallies.. bottoms..etc.. Everyone is puzzled and no one has any 'holy grails' for these few weeks. The best thing I could do was to work twice as hard to come up with a few good picks like LCOS, WIND, BKS, etc.. then scroll through numerous datafeeds on earnings, mergers, acquisitions to find some 'story' stocks and keep a nice amount of "PUTS" when most stocks were tanking.

To criticize is easy, but it's more difficult to come up with something that will work in every market, bull or bear.
