Hi JG, the daily totals you pointed to does not tell the story.(Lessons learned from Jim :-))

You are right that the selling stopped. The real story is that between 2:15 CST and the Close(3:00CST) the volume on the NYSE was 77,000,000 up and 20,000,000 down and on the NASD it was 76,000,000 vs 37,000,000 down.
