the fact that MSFT is bringing this issue to light has me scared... When has microsoft ever gone out of their way to admitt that competition is going to be benefitting from their misfortunes???

Really good question. Why not just state that sales of Windows NT 5.0 will suffer due to the perpetual delay in shipping it? That would be more accurate, so why give the nod to Novell? This has to impact Novell's stock price in a positive way, so why do it?

Now I have to wonder: is this greasing the skids for something else? Will this make negotiations to license NDS on NT go a little smoother? Or is there hope that if Novell gets cocky maybe they could slip and let Microsoft steal the family jewels with some Standard Microsoft Business Practice licensing loophole? Inquiring minds want to know.

Citrix last year just barely avoided being crushed and swept away with this kind of licensing deal. I hope Dr. Eric took notes and that he can prevent Novell from becoming another Spyglass story.
