The next two weeks are VERY important The announcement of the GKO restructuring could be a positive. The Duma may actually stop criticizing Yeltsin and pass some reform laws. The international community may extend some financial help too. Also as you point out Clinton is in Moscow on Sept 1-3. He may announce a bailout package. Oil prices are also key to Russia. Oil could make a significant move up due due to the Saudia Arabia/Venzuala/Mexico summit on Friday. I think the RTS index is way oversold and could have an enormous bounce in the near future.
