To all:
Chilaka smells rat for tech stocks beginning this week. Box makers are first in line. She must have come to know something when she was kidnapped by the mob hired by some big fund groups in Boston. She says that we will enter 1997 with DOW between 6000 and 6100 and a big sell-off is in order by early to mid January. Look for DOW below 5800 in January. Well, if Kurlak can see 16 Mb DRAM prices stabilizing at $10 for 1997 and can still afford to be employed, Chilaka can see the market every which way she wants, right? BTW, the sell-off we will see in box makers will dwarf the sell-off we have seen for chippies in Jan 1996. Also, many who disagree with Mike Burke's predictions will continue to disagree with him by telling him that he did underestimate the sell-off potential for box makers and therefore he is wrong again. <g>
As usual, take this birdcast with proper castings. I am still 100% cash in my 401K and other retirement vehicles (TIAA-CREF.) I will enter the market only after seeing some 6-7% sell-off. Or, the following week of the CNBC coverage of poor PC sales, margin problems for box makers, and Intel seeing order slowdown.
Good luck!
-Mohan
