I enjoyed reading about how the NYSE Specialists play their game, as described in "The Electronic Daytrader" book... it is esoteric, complicated, and highly manipulative, so much so I would hesitate to read anything into a spurious last minute trade bid. I think their was a balanced 1 mil bid and ask also present at closing, along with one 1/4 mil bid. Given that there are so many shares traded during the day I think the 1/4 mil is almost peanuts.... but I have no experience to support hte guess.

It's hard for me to believe that the individual investors are picking up million share trades off the institutions... something doesn't make sense here. I suppose I'd like old Louis to share some data... or perhaps someone else can tell us how to tell that that is so.
