Kashmir - Here is one view. JPR: I don't know whether I have posted this link here before but since I ran in to this I thought to post it any way. I have no idea whether this is a site put up by India or some by Kashmiris who wanted to let the world know about their point of view,obviously it is not by the Pakistanis or any of the militants. jammu-kashmir.com jammu-kashmir.com Hari Singh's letter to Mountbatten dated 26th Oct.1947 Excerpt: ....."With the conditions obtaining at present in my State and the grreat emergency of the situation as it exists, I have no option but to ask for help from the Indian Dominion. Naturally they cannot send the help asked for by me without my State acceding to the Dominion of India. I have accordingly decided to do so and I attach the Instrument of Accession for acceptance by your Government. The other alternative is to leave my State and my people to free-booters. On this basis no civilized Government can exist or be maintained.
