Gregg and ALL.QUALCOMM,Samsung,Sony are benefiting cell phone market share as GSM shrinks in spread. The Phone Numbers tell the story.IN 1996 QUALCOMM had 3% of the world digital phone market. In 1997 QUALCOMM has 17%.Ericsson had 56% in 1996 and in 1997 there share shrank to 41%.Nokia had 33% in 1996 and 20% in 1997.Are you listening Tero? Ericssons weak point says Dataquest is that it dosen't sell CDMA phones, oops!Slight misjudgement on Goliath's part wouldn't you say!"Motorola has lagged in the the CDMA market because it chose to develope its own CDMA chips instead of buying them from QUALCOMM,analysts say.San Diego based QUALCOMM developed CDMA and has broadly licensed the technology."Well all of this is from monday's Investors Business Daily where QUALCOMM and CDMA its licenses and competition was featured in Computers and Technology. There is alot more and every one serious about this great investment should check out.No I don't work for IBD I administer anesthesia for a living and I would have to say that Ericsson has been asleep and Motorola sedated on CDMA and when they finally emerge QUALCOMM will be bigger then the both of them.
