Regarding competition: look up WAVX's last annual report and search for the heading "Competition" -- that will give you a good idea of how the company itself sees the marketplace. I copied this section into a post on this thread once, but I can't find the number right now. Also, in Steven Sprague's conference call with the IBM/WAVX press release back in December, he was asked about competition and said that there was no one who was competing directly with WAVX, that in fact he wished there were -- again, I posted notes from that call which would have this info in it, but you'd have to go back and search for them -- mid December it was, I believe.
Remember that while encryption has become a much bigger deal for WAVX lately, that metering should be their bread and butter. In my opinion, it would be very unlikely to see IBM releasing a product that nullified the WaveMeter in any way -- if they were going to do this, it seems like they would have been unlikely to make their original agreement with WAVX in the first place.
Hope this is helpful. |
