The budget deficit is not increasing. It has been decreasing rapidly. In fact we registered a budget surplus in the 3rd quarter for the first time since the 70s. This on top of the more common surplus in the 2nd quarter has set us up for a budget surplus for the year. As a consequence the national debt will decrease this year.
