David; I hope people know that Money Market funds are flush
with cash .
Inflows Week Ended 08/19/98

Money Mkts

This week $ 7.019 B

Last week 08/12/98 $ 7.785 B

Last Year 08/20/97 $ 6.468 B
but here is the kicker
4 week Mvg Avg $ 9.349 B...
tahts over 37B into MM in the month,

But thats not all, Money Markets now have
over 1.2 Trillion dollars in them.
and the idea that Funds are low on cash levels
is also a misconception, of some wishful thinking
on the part of the perma bears..the ones I'v looked
at have raised cash levels to highs they haven't had
in the last 3 yrs.
------------------------
If the market does break out, you could see a curve up
that could make the past up trends look tame.
-------------------------
I don't know if it will do it, but I won't be too surprised
if it does.
There is no doubt in my mind that some big
derivative players are and have been short the US market, but
it looked like Friday they may have been playing their last
hole cards. If the Bulls do take charge and that cash comes out
of hiding we will climb one hell of a wall of worry.

I'm not saying we will, but I would not sleep good if I were
short.
Jim
