The press loves to spin things negatively.
I don't recall the last government sacking as causing world wide stock market crashes and a bombardment of negative media. I think the new PM (or old PM). Victor C. may be good. He brings consistency to Russia because the west knows this man and his ideals from his last tenure as PM. It was during his time that the RTS index went up six-fold. The media can't have it both ways. If Russia is in a financial crisis caused by the Sergei K. government, picking Victor C. , who was in charge during 1997's 0.7% growth should be good news. If Sergei K. was making good progress on reforms and this government reshuffle hurts those reforms, then Russia was improving in the right direction and was not in a "crisis".
